Job Title: Senior Database Administrator

Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our team at Softtek Colombia. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex database systems to support our business applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create data models, schemas, and database management processes tailored to application needs
  • Monitor and tune database performance, including query and indexing strategies
  • Implement best practices for data partitioning, sharding, and replication to ensure high availability and scalability
  • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data in accordance with relevant regulations
  • Monitor access control and audit logs to ensure data security practices are followed
  • Data Migration and Integration: Plan and execute data migration strategies from on-premises databases or other cloud systems to Azure Cosmos DB and MongoDB
  • Integrate databases with existing applications and services, ensuring a seamless data flow
  • Analyze SQL query plans, suggest, and implement solutions to support developers in development and production environments
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, including performance bottlenecks, query optimization, and replication issues
  • Automate routine database administration tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and ARM templates
  • Document database configurations, processes, and best practices, contributing to the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge resources
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement database solutions that align with business objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Certifications in Azure (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate) or MongoDB (e.g., MongoDB Certified Developer)
  • SQL

  • Auditing
  • ARM Templates

Preferred Languages: English (Fluent Advanced 96-100%)
