Job Overview

DAC Beachcroft is seeking a skilled Paralegal to join our Casualty Injury Team. This role involves working within the team that focuses on employers and public liability claims with values predominantly up to £100k. Our National team works with clients from leading insurance companies and household name corporates, handling all aspects of defendant litigation, including catastrophic injury, clinical negligence, motor, casualty, disease, product, professional negligence, and health and safety. The team is increasingly involved in pre-emptive advice and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage files to ensure deadlines are met and cases are handled proactively to conclusion.
  • Ensure work is carried out effectively to meet client, commercial, and quality standards, including adherence to internal and client SLAs, KPIs, and protocols.
  • Achieve agreed financial targets, prompt billing and collection of WIP and disbursements, and provide accurate MI.
  • Develop a clear case strategy, balancing commercial interests of the firm and client, and apply appropriate technical expertise and case law.
  • Manage risk and compliance issues, escalating emerging problems to the Supervisor.
  • Engage with clients to maximize opportunities, acting as an ambassador of the firm.
  • Contribute to Business Development and client relationship activity in support of the Client Relationship Partner.
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge through training sessions and publications.
About You
  • 0-2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in Multi-Track or Fast-Track Claims.
  • EL/PL Experience.
  • A high level of personal compliance with firm protocols and procedures.
  • Good legal knowledge relevant to the area of expertise.
  • Good organization skills, able to work to deadlines, prioritize workload, and meet conflicting demands.
  • An ability to adopt a commercial perspective to legal issues, with high standards of written and oral communication skills.
  • Confident negotiator.
  • Able to produce work to a high standard, with excellent attention to detail and concern for quality of service.
  • Team-oriented and collegiate, with a willingness to share knowledge and support other team members.
  • Demonstrates alignment with the Firm's Cultural Principles.
