We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Expert to join our team at EMAPTA Latam. As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of employee ownership solutions.

Job Overview

In this exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing key features within our high-performing Ruby on Rails application. You will work alongside a passionate team of professionals, using modern technology to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot systems that drive employee ownership forward.

About the Role
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance features for the core Ruby on Rails application.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement new features.
  • Optimize application performance, database queries, and overall system architecture.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot software defects, performance bottlenecks, and system failures.
Requirements
  • Minimum of four years of experience building software in a team environment or equivalent expertise; applicants who can demonstrate strong teamwork in software development are encouraged to apply.
  • At least two years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails or equivalent.
  • Skilled in writing code that is accessible, scalable, maintainable, and high-performing.
  • Experience with background job processing environments, such as Sidekiq or other ActiveJob processors.
  • Proficient in writing complex queries for relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and public communication.
  • Ability to work within US time zones for team collaboration, regardless of physical location.
  • Must be based in South or Central America; applications from the US or Europe are currently not being accepted.
