About the Role:

The Director of Security is responsible for the day-to-day security force of the property, ensuring the safety and security of all guests, personnel, and property. This role requires a strong focus on implementing policies and procedures, designing and managing preventive safety and security programs, and investigating crimes committed against the hotel, guests, and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement all policies and procedures regarding security and safety.
• Design, implement, and manage preventive safety and security programs.
• Investigate crimes committed against the hotel, guests, and employees.
• Document all incidents occurring in the hotel in connection with crime, subversions, potential liabilities, and insurance requirements.
• Assist hotel staff in handling unusual guest or employee problems, such as disorderly conduct, thefts, suicides, bomb threats, employee or guest accidents, fire or safety hazards, robberies, terrorist activities, civil disturbance, power or elevator failures, medical assistance, and natural disasters.
• Keep abreast of developments within the hotel and community as they relate to security and act as a liaison with local law-enforcement agencies.
• Take an active role in the development and implementation of the hotel's fire plan and test the hotel's Fire and Emergency Response preparedness.
• Take responsibility for all training related to the hotel's emergency procedures and conduct bi-annual Fire Drills.
• Develop a yearly budget for the department.
• Chair the Health and Safety Committees in the hotel.
• Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.

Requirements:

Experience required by position is from two to four years of employment in a related position with Four Seasons or other organization. Previous administration in lifesaving and property protection situations is also required. The ideal candidate should have experience in CPR, first aid, firefighting, and crowd control. Previous police or security experience is also preferred. The ability to operate computer equipment and speak, write, and read in English is essential.
