Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical Level 2 team responsible for cloud operations and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure adherence to incident response protocols as outlined in operational guidelines.
  • Lead incident response efforts to mitigate downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Deploy and manage cloud monitoring solutions to proactively detect and resolve potential issues.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at continuous improvement within the cloud operations team.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of operational processes, incident logs, and other pertinent records.
  • Ensure documentation is current and easily accessible for team members.
  • Integrate cloud operations with broader IT Service Management (ITSM) processes to enhance service delivery.
  • Prioritize and address issues based on their impact on users and critical business operations.
  • Ensure the team delivers timely and precise support daily, monitoring individual and team performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Managers across product lines to streamline escalation processes and monitor escalation health.
  • Gather and relay customer feedback to relevant stakeholders, ensuring it is communicated effectively to the team.
  • Recruit, train, and assess new team members during their onboarding phase.
  • Work with management to address the professional development needs of the team, ensuring employee satisfaction and fulfillment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of processes and create knowledge repositories.
  • Manage shift schedules to ensure 24/7 operational coverage.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Certifications in AWS, Azure, and ITIL frameworks are advantageous.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in cloud operations.
  • Technical expertise in managing both public and private cloud environments.
  • Experience in operations management, including multi-cloud infrastructure and IT services.
  • Proven ability to lead incident response teams and manage critical incidents effectively.
  • Track record of implementing improvements in cloud operations processes and technologies.
  • Experience in ensuring compliance with Service Level Objectives (SLO) for incident response and resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on customer empathy.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role within a cloud operations or technical support team.
  • Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, along with on-premise support.
  • Strong incident response and management skills, capable of leading teams during critical situations.
  • Proficiency in managing alerts to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Understanding of ITIL frameworks, particularly in incident, problem, and change management.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex issues.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and manage teams within the cloud operations environment.
  • Excellent documentation skills for maintaining operational records and incident reports.
  • Ability to analyze trends and identify opportunities for improvement in alert management.
