About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer Associate to join our team in Bogotá or work from home. As a key member of our Global Human Resources Technology / Solution Architecture & Engineering team, you will contribute to the overall success of our organization by executing specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of our business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software applications using Java,.NET, and JavaScript, ensuring compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze and resolve technical and application defects with excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Provide third-level support to business users and adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on time.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporated into day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience in object-oriented software design and development.
  • Strong experience with Java (8, 11, 17), supporting different frameworks such as Springboot, in all development phases, including develop and unit testing.
  • Experience with Microsoft.NET technologies, including but not limited to C#, Web Services, supporting frameworks, and UI tools.
  • Experience with HTML/CSS/javascript and frontend skills.
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server, database design and development; experience with data migration tools is considered a strong asset.
  • Understanding of cloud-hosted environments like Azure or GCP is considered a strong asset.
  • B1 level of English.
Working Conditions

Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
