About the Role

The Manager, Accounting, will play a key role in supporting the Corporate Controllership team in Purchase, NY. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial statements by performing key procedures in collaboration with Business Unit and Regional Controllers, as well as Global Business Shared Services.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform key procedures to monthly and quarterly close to support the Corporate Financial Reporting team.
  2. Assist with research of moderate to complex issues, including interpretation of accounting guidance and provide Corporate team with recommendations that are in compliance with US GAAP.
  3. Ensure that company accounting policies are properly maintained and updated or established when necessary.
  4. Work closely with the Corporate Controllership team in Purchase, NY, and other regional and global teams to ensure seamless coordination.
  5. Ensure that strong financial controls are implemented and functioning as expected across the organization.
  6. Assist in the preparation of accounting memos, documentation, and analysis, as needed.
  7. Assist with discussions and provide specific recommendations to leadership.
  8. Assist in special requests for analysis, research, and detailed information, including other projects deemed necessary from time to time.

Requirements

  1. Fluent in English.
  2. Degree in Accounting; Certification as CPA or equivalent is required.
  3. Established credibility as a trusted advisor to business partners and senior leadership on modern to complex technical matters.
  4. Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on financial and business acumen.
  5. Experience assessing the effectiveness and oversight of financial control implementation; ensures compliance within a diverse organization.
  6. Confident and poised influencer who uses analytical and leadership skills to achieve goals.
  7. Experience building collaborative working relationships with stakeholders at the global/regional, local, or corporate level.
  8. Strong knowledge in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  9. Successfully drive and integrate change and cultivate a continuous improvement culture.
  10. Excellent project management skills with strong analytical and financial skills.
  11. Proficient PC skills, especially Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Hyperion & Oracle a plus.
  12. Market and industry knowledge a strong plus.
