About the Role

The Import Duty Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of Customs Tariff classification, harmonized code, Duties, Taxes, Free Trade benefits and requirements, Spanish language translation, and other core documents to facilitate the export of PriceSmart merchandise.

  • Minimum 3-year(s) experience in Import Duties classification, Harmonize Codes (HTS)
  • Experience with international documentation and bi-lingual oral and written fluency in English and Spanish
  • Proficient in MS Office, Microsoft Excel, AS/400 or JDE, Power Point, Smart sheets, DOMO, and Docusign
Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with PriceSmart Buying staff to ensure accurate and timely information for Harmonize code classifications for duty requests
  2. Analyze Customs tariff classification, Duties taxes including Free trade benefits criteria analysis and qualifications of new items and Harmonize codes by country
  3. Develop and maintain up-to-date duty, taxes, free trade schedules and provide accurate reports on a regular basis
  4. Evaluate non-tariff regulations and restrictions, import permits requirements for Classification
  5. Input harmonized codes, taxes, duties, translation in AS400
