Job Overview


This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our team of skilled technologists who are passionate about supporting and progressing leading-edge solutions to meet business requirements.


We value CI/CD in everything that we develop, and our platform is based on Java/Kotlin, Python, and JavaScript (React), with a focus on cloud-native, low-latency technologies.



Responsibilities


This Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for:



  • Collaborating with XFN teams and Product Managers during daily standups to discuss the current sprint and remove roadblocks;
  • Writing Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, or Python code (using TDD) to add functionality to our platform;
  • Building out an event-driven, microservices architecture using serverless technologies and RESTful Spring Boot APIs;
  • Working on our infrastructure as code framework, utilizing AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, Fargate, Step Functions, SNS/SQS, and Kinesis Firehose;
  • Modeling complex product data and working with multiple data stores, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Elasticsearch;
  • Pairing with and mentoring other engineers to provide highly valuable and innovative products to customers;
  • Authoring architecture decision records and participating in whiteboarding sessions to demonstrate continual improvement of engineering practices;
  • Helping establish a technical vision and facilitating its implementation;
  • Meeting weekly with managers for performance and development tracking;
  • Hosting Lunch-and-Learn or Engineering Learning Sessions to showcase new technologies.


Requirements


To succeed in this role, you should have:



  • Strong fundamentals in back-end object-oriented programming, including proficiency in Java or Kotlin;
  • Familiarity integrating Restful APIs and understanding of microservices architecture;
  • Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases;
  • Sound SDLC skills, preferably with experience in agile environments;
  • Excellent English communication skills, with ability to interface across cross-functional technology teams and business;
  • At least 4 years of relevant software engineering experience;
  • Minimum degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
