Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Rights and Equality Advocate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of human rights mandates within your designated area of responsibility. You will also support fact-finding missions, including report drafting and follow-up, as well as identify key contacts in government, civil society, UN agencies, and other partners on ethnic, indigenous, and gender issues at national and regional levels. Additionally, you will support the analysis, implementation, reporting, and monitoring of activities related to ethnic, indigenous people, and gender, and participate in human rights capacity-building, training programs, and the implementation of OHCHR-Colombia's strategy on ethnic and indigenous rights with a gender perspective.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need a Master's degree in law, political science, or international relations, preferably with a specialization in human rights and/or international humanitarian law. You should have demonstrated interest and/or experience (ideally one year) in human rights, ethnic, and indigenous people's rights, as well as good knowledge of institutional mandates, policies, and guidelines related to human rights. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

An International UN Youth Volunteer contract ensures that travel, relocation, and UN health insurance costs are covered. A monthly living allowance is also paid.
