Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Natural Scientist for projects on environmental protection and extractivism. As part of our team, you will support local organizations in addressing socio-economic conflicts related to extractive industries, focusing on rights and gender aspects. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting communities in educational processes to clarify conflicts related to extractive industries
- Conducting environmental analyses with communities to identify hydrological risks and potentials
- Providing technical support on environmental issues in lobbying and legal proceedings
- Accompanying partner organizations in legal, educational, and communication processes
- Leading studies on the protection and sustainable use of water sources in prioritized regions
- Preparing analytical reports and communication materials on environmental conflicts
- Strengthening networks, supporting thematic partnerships, and providing technical support for national and international lobbying
You will work closely with colleagues from partner organizations to ensure the effective implementation of projects and programs.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant university degree in natural or environmental sciences, such as environmental engineering, ecology, biology, or geography
- At least 3 years of professional experience in environmental conflicts, preferably in the context of extractive industries
- Experience in participatory planning for the transformation of environmental conflicts and in the characterization of hydrological environmental impacts
- Fluency in Spanish; good English is an advantage
- Status as an EU citizen or Swiss national
