Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect Lead to join our team at ScotiaTech. As a key member of our Global Human Resources Technology team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our cloud-based platform by designing and implementing data architecture that supports business requirements and adheres to best practices for SQL Managed Instance and Azure Data Factory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data architecture for the cloud-based platform, ensuring seamless data flow, data quality, and consistency.
  • Lead the integration of diverse data sources using Azure Data Factory, APIs, and batch file processes.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of SQL Managed Instance and other data components to ensure high availability, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies, data quality standards, and security measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions that align with the overall data strategy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data architecture and data management.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing data solutions on cloud platforms, particularly with SQL MI and ADF or similar tools.
  • Strong experience with data integration technologies, including APIs, batch file processes, and other ETL tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance and security practices, including implementing data governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and optimize data architecture for performance and scalability.
