We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site EHS Officer to join our team at BASF. As a key member of our site operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as implementing effective risk management strategies to protect our employees, customers, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all EHS activities are in compliance with Thai law and regulations.
- Conduct regular workplace and environmental monitoring to identify potential hazards and risks.
- Lead and coordinate the Safety Committee, conducting monthly meetings and ensuring all members are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
- Regularly conduct safety team inspections to identify and eliminate unsafe work practices and conditions.
- Act as the Hazardous Substance Officer, ensuring all hazardous substances are handled and stored safely.
- Take on the role of Information Protection Officer (IPO) and be responsible for all issues related to information protection.
- Ensure Waste Management meets BASF requirements and Thai law.
- Develop and implement a Fire Protection Plan and procedure, ensuring all equipment is well-maintained.
- Report all EHS incidents and near-misses as per legal requirements.
- Comply with Process Safety Management as per law required.
- Ensure ISO 14001 and other specific EHS systems are well-maintained, both internally and externally.
- Conduct risk assessments and submit reports to IEAT and the Department of Industrial Work (DIW) as required.
- Review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and ensure employees and contractors follow safety rules and requirements during work.
- Improve site contractor management, ensuring BASF requirements are taken into account.
- Develop an EHS training matrix and plan, ensuring BASF requirements and legal requirements are met. Provide regular EHS training to employees and contractors.
- Promote Safety Champions and site EHS promotion activities, such as 5-minute safety talks and Good Safety Discipline (GSD) initiatives.
- Support and coordinate site EHS and country EHS for EHS/Responsible Care implementation.
- Perform day-to-day consolidated functional EHS tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, and Environmental or certified Safety Officer as required by Thai regulations.
- 2-5 years working experience in EHS area and/or production, engineering. Leadership experience would be an advantage.
- Good English Proficiency.
- Excellent communication and management skills, familiar with local legislation system and legal requirements in EHS. Must have a good understanding of the scope and function of EHS units.
