Job Summary

The Medical Scientific Liaison will cultivate scientific-based and non-promotional relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) by disseminating product or disease complex information according to the HCP's demand. This role will actively engage in activities that support the scientific strategic direction of a product, fostering collaborative relationships with opinion leaders and facilitating the exchange of unbiased scientific information between the medical community and the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster collaborative relationships with opinion leaders and facilitate the exchange of unbiased scientific information between the medical community and the company.
  • Provide scientific information of the latest clinical trials in a fair and balanced way, highlighting the development, efficacy, and safety of Pfizer medicines.
  • Promote scientific information of key molecules or disease areas among targeted physicians and other HCPs within an on-label context or off-label, as per KOL demand.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with academic centers to ensure their access to current medical and scientific complex information.
  • Conduct technical presentations to healthcare professionals to ensure accessibility of scientific and practical product information, including product administration characteristics, therapy management, and other practical concepts to expand current product knowledge.
  • Maintain contact with KOLs and other HCPs through face-to-face interactions, traveling throughout the national territory, or virtual meetings (webex meetings or other virtual resources) when applicable.
  • Participate in medical educational programs and disseminate technical information regarding molecules and disease concepts, identifying competitive intelligence.
  • Upon external requests for information, send data on products to healthcare professionals, including physicians, hospital practitioners, and formulary committees, consultant pharmacists, healthcare authorities, and healthcare providers.
  • Participate and interact with healthcare professionals in local, regional, national, and international scientific meetings (when applicable).
  • Facilitate and support scientifically the projects involving external and internal customers.

Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Work closely with medical managers to develop and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, in accordance with medical strategies developed together with medical managers and MSL managers to further understand and gain both insight and/or input into treatment patterns and unmet medical needs.
  • Provide information to local experts (speakers) to assist in keeping their presentations current and ensure they have medical and scientific information necessary when responding to questions encountered during their presentations.
  • Serve as a field local medical scientific resource for planning and communicating product information.
  • Cooperate in the planning and development of advisory boards, speakers' training, or other meetings involving opinion leaders promoted by the company.
  • Communicate with internal cross-functional areas, bringing medical insights that may impact the medical community's awareness about Pfizer drugs or disease areas, working to ensure correct use of Pfizer's medicines.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor (MD) degree required.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • At least 1 year of Pharma Industry or Corporate Health Services experience is required.
  • Strong medical-scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge, with hematology and epidemiology experience being a differentiation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Effective communication of technical/scientific information.
  • Previous experience as an MSL is a differentiation, but not required.

Work Environment

  • Field-based position (80% in the field, 20% administrative).
  • Availability for travel across the country.
