Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Product Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing our platform to meet the business needs and improve our systems.

About the Role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to design new data pipelines, maintain platforms hosted on data streams for batch-loading and real-time visualizations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and evolving our existing data platform;
  • Building processes to ingest data from Kafka, APIs, and databases using Nifi;
  • Applying transformations to data streams;
  • Being involved in data modeling following standards such as Inmon, Kimball, and Data Vault;
  • Ensuring data quality by verifying data consistency and accuracy;
  • Keeping up to date on research and development of new technologies and techniques to enhance our data platform;
  • Having an investigative mindset to troubleshoot problems and incidents;
  • Full ownership of projects and tasks assigned, with the ability to work within a team;
  • Able to document processes and perform knowledge-sharing sessions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience with modern cloud database technologies such as Snowflake;
  • Experience with orchestrating data pipelines using Airflow;
  • Experience with SQL and data integration tools;
  • Experience with any programming language like Python or Java;
  • Knowledge of AWS services such as S3, Lambda, API Gateways, DMS, and RDS;
  • Development experience in both Microsoft and Linux/Cloud environments;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional Experience

Prior experience with data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniques, such as Inmon, Kimball, and Data Vault, is desirable. Familiarity with data streaming using technologies like Kafka, software versioning tools like GIT, infrastructure scripting like Terraform, and data flow systems like Apache NiFi is also beneficial.

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
