Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to support our project portfolio at various stages of the GEF project cycle. This role will provide general programmatic support to ensure compliance with CI-GEF guidelines and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Project Development: Review and provide technical feedback on concept notes, ensuring alignment with CI and GEF guidelines.
  • Project Implementation: Provide guidance and oversight to Executing Agencies to ensure compliance with CI-GEF programmatic requirements.
  • Capacity Building: Conduct capacity-building activities for executing agencies and key partners as needed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in project/program design or project implementation support in environment and/or development.
  • Strong technical expertise in environmental sustainability topics, including climate change, land use, biodiversity conservation, and natural resource management.

Working Conditions

This position requires international travel up to 25%.
