The Team

We are a dynamic group within the CRM, Sales & Branch Performance engineering team, operating under Customer Servicing engineering in Scotia Digital. Our mission is to deliver innovative solutions that empower front-line staff across various channels to enhance customer relationships, provide superior service, and improve product offerings, ultimately driving sales and productivity.

This team comprises architects, technology leaders, business systems analysts, designers, subject matter experts, developers, and testers who collaborate to innovate and transform, develop technology roadmaps for customer servicing, ensure comprehensive project delivery, support daily operations, draft technical narratives, develop and test software, and manage stakeholder relationships.

The Role:

As a Strategic Solutions Consultant, you will play a crucial role in the effective delivery of software solutions within Canadian Digital Banking. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify business challenges and propose viable solutions, as well as pinpoint opportunities for process enhancements to boost efficiency. Your responsibilities will include conducting impact assessments, estimations, risk identification, issue management, and overseeing project governance and production activities.

Is this role right for you?

  • Facilitate sessions for requirements gathering and design with various stakeholders to extract and translate requirements into use cases, user stories, sequence diagrams, and more to fulfill both development and business needs.
  • Lead collaborative application design sessions with architecture, development, and product teams to provide high-level estimates for incoming initiatives of varying sizes.
  • Analyze and develop technical specifications based on solution documentation.
  • Ensure the integrity of both business and technical requirements throughout the entire customer journey.
  • Lead enterprise process engineering initiatives across infrastructure, security, DevOps, and cryptography teams.
  • Create, refine, and maintain the product backlog along with associated deliverables; manage release backlog with projected delivery timelines.
  • Bridge the gap between business and IT, ensuring mutual understanding and alignment on both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of our engineering practices by providing insights and suggestions for improvement.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and culture should influence daily activities and decision-making.
  • Facilitate stakeholder and executive communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, and relationship management.
  • Take the lead in addressing production issues and deploying bug fixes.
  • Assist in the architecture and design of solutions.
  • Support Senior Management with various tasks such as roadmap creation, resource and capacity planning, and team coordination.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in a challenging IT solution environment.
  • Extensive experience in creating BSA artifacts such as user stories, sequence diagrams, and data flows.
  • Strong knowledge of software delivery practices, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience in a Scrum master or delivery lead capacity.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Stay updated on the most effective tools and approaches.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys learning from and teaching others.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering or Computer Science, with strong analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in English (B2 level).
