Overview:

This role plays a vital part in supporting the financial and operational goals of the organization by effectively monitoring and analyzing budgetary and resource data for the designated project portfolio. Collaborates with various departments and project leaders to ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Duties

  • Manages the daily financial oversight of simple to moderately complex projects, focusing on the functional area's segment of the project budget with minimal guidance.
  • Reviews contract stipulations and bidding assumptions to ensure accuracy.
  • Conducts monthly analyses comparing budgeted figures to actual expenditures.
  • Collaborates closely with project leaders to refresh resource forecasts and unit grids, addressing and resolving outstanding issues related to forecasts, unit grids, and contract amendments.
  • Partners with other departments and project leaders to monitor the financial components of the functional area's projects.
  • Aids the project team in identifying potential risks, clarifying reasons for unaccounted hours, and participates in risk assessment meetings as necessary.
  • Prepares financial estimates for contract adjustments.

Supervision and Guidance

Generally receives broad instructions for routine tasks and detailed guidance for new projects or assignments. Exercises discretion within established procedures to determine appropriate actions.

Interpersonal Relationships

Interactions are primarily internal, with occasional external communication with customers or vendors on standard matters. Fosters productive working relationships both internally and externally.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent formal academic/vocational training, along with

Relevant experience that equips the individual with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the role effectively (typically 2+ years).

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Over 2 years of experience in complex project management, encompassing resource allocation against budgets, forecasting, and the execution/coordination of related quantitative and analytical tasks.
