Position Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to implement the procedures of the regulatory affairs department, ensuring adherence to the technical regulations of Latin America. This is crucial for the safe utilization of personal care ingredients associated with Vantage's operations, aligning with the regulatory frameworks of the LATAM region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret technical regulations in Latin America, with a focus on Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia, to provide essential regulatory insights for Vantage's new business initiatives in the region.
  • Conduct thorough regulatory evaluations for products within the Personal Care and Performance Materials divisions, guiding the development and maintenance of the product portfolio in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Offer regulatory compliance assistance to Vantage LATAM and its clients, including the preparation of regulatory data sheets, safety data sheets, and various certifications (e.g., EcoCert, Halal, Kosher).
  • Engage with distributors to coordinate the technical requirements related to product distribution for Vantage customers.
  • Secure and uphold the necessary registrations and licenses with health authorities in Latin America, primarily ANVISA, Cofepris, and Invima, to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and business viability.
  • Implement departmental procedures in accordance with the technical regulations of Latin America to achieve the required sanitary compliance for Vantage LATAM.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Chemistry.

Additional Training:

  • Professional courses or continuing education certifications related to specific regulatory domains.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of overall professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar regulatory role.

Technical Expertise:

  • Knowledge of cosmetic regulations and chemical substances applicable to Latin American countries.
  • Understanding of regulations concerning industrial chemical substances (agriculture, veterinary, cleaning) in Latin America.

Software Proficiency:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
