Job Title: Financial Controller

Job Description:

The Financial Reporting job family at Diageo encompasses roles responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of operational results for external and management purposes. These roles collect, process, consolidate, and deliver relevant, timely, and accurate Group Management and Statutory Reporting information. In this context, the Financial Controller must ensure that Fixed assets and Leases activities are completed accurately and on time every month, adhering to the Mexican local legislation, IFRS principles, Diageo policies, and robust internal control procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the accuracy and fair representation of the legal entity financial documents.
  • Review the controls under the position scope are being applied accurately according to Sox requirements.
  • Responsible for making sure the BFC reporting is complete and accurate.
  • Keep good interpersonal relations with all working teams in order to maintain a positive working climate and support the achievement of team goals.
  • Improve execution supporting decision making and focus on analysis instead of processing by using company designated tools like Power BI, etc.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience working in functions related to Financial controlling.
  • Experience in audit companies (Desirable).
  • Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, MEXGAAP, etc.).
  • Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Performance orientation and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP SAP FI, CO.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Power BI and Excel.
  • High level of English language proficiency (spoken and written) B2.

Role Specifications:

  • (L6B) Role reports directly and provides high-quality support to the FC. Coordinator and manages the Day to Day FC management activities.
  • Review of Financial Documents, including preparation of Financial Documents Review (FSR).
  • Follow up on Actions derived from review forums during month pre-close and month close.
  • Preparation of monthly GL Account Reconciliations.
  • Preparation of Precision Limits and standard publish exercise after month close.
  • Preparation of Cost Statements.
  • Monitor all activities related to the Supply Operation in FS that derive into a booking in the accounting.
  • Follow up on CARM Control completeness, including the consolidation of needed backup evidence to complete the controls under scope.
  • Follow up on GLAT actions that outcome reconciliation process.
  • Support any issues Market teams in Mexico, Bangalore RTR Teams, Budapest CARM or FC Teams may present regarding our financial documents.
  • Generation of inventory reports for specific purposes like counts of inventory in June and December or to prepare monthly reports.
  • Resolve audit queries and requests for information (PWC / CARM / GAR).
  • Maintain monthly export tracking file.
  • Address tax requests and any other information requests from distributed teams.
  • Conduct ad hoc business analysis.
  • Secure the submission of all reports for the legal entities under the position scope, timely and with quality.
