About this position

We are seeking an Investment Officer to join our team in the Debt Capital Markets and Financial Products division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in debt capital markets, with expertise in originating and executing local and/or international bond transactions.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Origination and deal execution: supporting the origination and leading the execution of debt securities deals, including evaluating, structuring, negotiating, and closing new transactions.
  • Deal execution coordination: collaborating with various risk fields to develop a comprehensive view of bond transactions in local and/or international markets.
  • Risk management capabilities: providing guidance to internal teams to improve the first line of defense, supporting management in filtering and prioritizing potential transactions.
  • Client value and development impact: focusing on delivering value to IDB Invest's clients by finding practical technical solutions to sector challenges and achieving sustainable development impact.
  • Market analysis & insight: collaborating within the team and across IDB Invest for developing regional capital markets and structured finance strategies.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in debt capital markets, with a consistent track record of leading and executing local and/or international bond transactions.
  • Knowledge of structured finance products, securitization markets, and related regulatory frameworks is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
