Job DescriptionThe Medical Science Liaison (MSL) plays a critical role in supporting the scientific and business objectives of AbbVie within a designated therapeutic area. This field-based position requires a strong scientific background, strategic vision, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with key opinion leaders, academic centers, and researchers to stay up-to-date on current medical and scientific information.
- Present scientific information and education to healthcare professionals, including physicians, researchers, and other healthcare professionals, on disease states, therapeutic landscapes, and AbbVie products.
- Serve as an internal resource for assigned therapeutic areas, providing medical and scientific support for the development of disease-state and product communications.
- Create and maintain relationships with internal cross-functional partnerships, working with commercial teams to develop and execute account plans that meet shared business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree required in a relevant scientific discipline (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, APP). Doctorate preferred in a health science or clinical discipline.
- Typically requires 0-2 years' relevant experience.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and translate specific territory and corporate needs into actionable strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other software applications.
