Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our operations center in Palmira, Colombia. This role will be based in our Americas office and offer hybrid working conditions. The successful candidate will design, deploy, and support scalable, secure cloud and hybrid solutions tailored to research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement integrated cloud/on-premises systems that meet operational, security, and scalability requirements.
• Provide guidance to systems analysts, IT engineers, and architects to facilitate effective architectural decisions.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the Alliance's vision and strategic plan to ensure that cloud and hybrid initiatives align with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with research teams to ensure the long-term cloud strategy remains aligned with platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure developments.
• Ensure that security measures are implemented within cloud operations and collaborate with security specialists as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in an international organization, research, or academic environment in DevOps, system administration, or cloud operations.
• Advanced English level (oral and written).
• Comprehensive understanding of multi-tier architectures (web servers, caching, application servers, load balancers, storage solutions).
• Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.
