Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic QA Automation Engineer I to join our team at Quorum Software. As a QA Automation Engineer I, you will be responsible for applying computer skills and analytical thinking to design, document, execute, and report on quality testing of our software.
Key Responsibilities- Estimate the effort required to complete tasks based on the design.
- Formulate work breakdowns outlining the steps required to accomplish each assigned task.
- Prepare and maintain documents, flow charts, test data, and diagrams as needed to describe the test's intended functionality, the data flow, the logic used, and any significant considerations made.
- Participate in a scrum team and attend specification workshops to ensure all user stories have the requisite acceptance criteria.
- Work as a member of a scrum team to define test plans, test cases, and test procedures to validate requirements against developed software.
- Prepare test environments and test data.
- Perform component, integration, system, and acceptance level testing.
- Record and report failures and bugs to relevant team members; assist in prioritizing, investigating, and correcting failures.
- Review existing test procedures and test cases for completeness when modules or products are enhanced, and when defects are found.
- Recreate steps taken by users or tests to help identify defects.
- Adhere to all established coding, scripting, documentation, and project procedures and all corporate policies.
- Contribute to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the organization's Agile project lifecycle.
- Perform other duties as deemed relevant based upon experience to fulfill company and/or customer needs.
- Perform exploratory testing when appropriate at key points in the release cycle.
- Design, implement, and perform advanced system tests.
- Update and maintain their personal skill set by investigating relevant tools and techniques, participating in professional organizations, and reading professional publications.
- Recommend enhancement ideas and other 'next steps' to improve the software.
- Participate in work planning sessions and software demonstrations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, human factors, or business administration.
- 0-2 years' experience in software testing for Windows applications or software life cycle management, including requirements gathering, test planning, and defect tracking.
- Strong innovative and analytical abilities.
- Solid understanding of testing throughout the software life cycle.
- Enjoys learning new techniques and technologies and can pick them up quickly.
- Enjoys working with team members at all levels of experience.
- Experienced with black box testing and collaborating closely with developers and business analysts.
- Supports the Agile methodology while understanding that each organization applies it to best fit their own environment.
- Competent working under general direction on complex projects, issues, and problems.
- Familiar with Jenkins, VersionOne, Git, Oracle, MSSQL.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Background Check: The successful candidate will need to successfully complete the following clearances: Criminal History Check, Education Verification, Employment Verification, Driver's License Verification, and Passport/ID validation.
- Visa Sponsorship: Employment eligibility to work with Quorum Software in Colombia is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position. The successful candidate will be required to ensure they maintain and renew any visas or permits that grant employment eligibility where applicable.
- Current professional card or registration in Colombia (if applicable): The successful candidate will be required to present their professional card or registration information if the role is deemed to be regulated.
- Onboarding Medical: The successful candidate will be required to undergo an onboarding medical examination prior to commencement of employment, in accordance with Colombian legislation.
