We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Interstate PowerSystems. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our IMT service trucks used in various industries.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering top-notch service. Your expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems will be essential in ensuring the reliability and functionality of our fleet customers and internal pool of service trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all types of truck bodies and associated components.
  • Repair and troubleshoot engines such as Kubota, Honda, and Kohler engines.
  • Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all heavy-duty components.
  • Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department, and customers.
  • Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
  • Meet requirements for certifications.
  • Administrative duties as related to position.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Lean Methodologies preferred.
  • 2 Years of Material Handling experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experienced with all material handling equipment such as forklifts & Reach lifts.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 25-50lbs routinely.
  • Occasionally lift over 50lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-starter ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to follow work orders.
  • Ability to determine needed repairs for cranes and trucks.
  • Ability to disassemble cranes and keep track of parts for reassembly.
  • Ability to rebuild hydraulic cylinders.
  • Ability to rebuild PTO.
  • Ability to run and test cranes.
  • General knowledge of hydraulics.
  • Knowledge of relays.
  • Electrical knowledge preferred.
  • Welding preferred.
