Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Specialist to join our team at ScotiaTech. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data engineering solutions that meet the needs of our business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop ETL processes using SSIS, DataStage, and PLSQL
  • Develop and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines
  • Work with Infrastructure teams to coordinate infrastructure/environment related upgrades, patches, and migration activities
  • Ensure data quality and security by implementing data standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data quality issues and implement process improvements
  • Develop and maintain documentation of issues, solutions, root cause, and findings for future problem resolutions
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and methodologies, and provide input to the continuous improvement of processes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in technology and/or engineering course
  • 2 years of solid TSQL programming experience
  • 2 years experience in ETL tools such as SSIS (including experience with Python)
  • Knowledge on Cloud solutions particularly on MS Azure Technologies
  • In-depth understanding of modern Datahub and Data warehousing concepts
  • Extensive knowledge on ETL standards concerning data security and run time process optimization
  • English level B1
Working Conditions

This role will work in a standard office-based environment, with non-standard hours being a common occurrence.
