Job Title: Kafka Administrator Senior

At Icesi, we're seeking a seasoned Kafka Administrator Senior to oversee our systems, ensuring high availability and seamless data replication across Kafka clusters. This role involves setting up and maintaining infrastructure, securing data pipelines, troubleshooting issues, and leveraging cloud platforms for scalability and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Kafka Cluster Management: Hands-on experience with ClusterLink and Replicators for seamless data replication and high availability. Minimum of 5 years as a Kafka Administrator, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production environments.
  • Kubernetes/OpenShift: At least 2 years of experience deploying, managing, and scaling applications on Kubernetes and OpenShift. Expertise in configuring Active-Passive Kafka clusters using Confluent for Kubernetes (CFK).
  • KRaft Mode: Knowledge of KRaft (Kafka Raft) architecture and experience upgrading to KRaft using CFK.
  • Troubleshooting & Integration: Robust troubleshooting abilities in the Confluent Platform, Connectors, and OpenShift environments. Familiar with Confluent Connectors such as IBM MQ, Confluent JDBC, S3, Snowflake, and Oracle CDC.
  • CFK Utilization: At least 2 years of experience utilizing CFK to build the Confluent Platform on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CDC Connectors: Competent with Change Data Capture (CDC) connectors for real-time data integration.
  • CI/CD & GitOps: Skilled in using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD for version control and continuous delivery.
  • Development Skills: Exposure to Python or Spring Boot Kafka applications for stream processing.
  • Monitoring Tools: Acquainted with Dynatrace or Splunk for monitoring and observability.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for managing Kafka.
