Animal Behavior Supervisor

At NOCO Humane, we are seeking a highly skilled Animal Behavior Supervisor to join our team in Evans, CO. As a key member of our Animal Behavior department, you will be responsible for supervising staff members and volunteers, designing and implementing behavior-related programs, and serving as a resource for animal behavior and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement behavior-related programs and guides to ensure the well-being of animals in our care.
  2. Supervise and mentor staff members and volunteers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide excellent animal care.
  3. Collaborate with other departments, including Veterinary Services and Foster teams, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  4. Provide expert advice and guidance on animal behavior and training to internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Maintain accurate records and reports to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in animal behavior and training, with a strong understanding of behavioral principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing excellent animal care.
  • Proven ability to design and implement behavior-related programs and guides, with a strong understanding of animal behavior and welfare.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
