Key Responsibilities

  • Resolve issues related to unplanned disruptions or degradation of service in non-production environments.
  • Implement, maintain, and support application releases to meet business needs and scale with our growth.
  • Contribute to the development of regular input and updates to our documented inventory of environments.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry technical direction and tap into IB business directions.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and problem resolution to prevent incident occurrence in testing environments.
  • Assist in implementing strategies to avoid risks during production delivery and code changes during testing for implications on environmental needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the applications we support, providing training and support as needed.
  • Communicate regular statuses on various activities being performed.
  • Work closely with Value Stream, CCA TechOps, and QA teams to understand testing requirements and provide options and recommendations for addressing testing needs.
  • Provide feedback to Value Stream, CCA TechOps, and QA teams in test strategies from an environment and deployment perspective.
  • Continuously review and identify improvement opportunities for team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage and execute full-scale releases of multiple applications and schedules from an operational perspective.
  • Create build and deployment pipelines for applications in CI servers like Azure DevOps Server, IBM UrbanCode Deploy, and Jenkins.
  • Have a good understanding of CI Tools like Azure DevOps for administration and support to the development community.
  • Build and maintain DEV Testing environments to support Development testing Application Codes.
  • Install, configure, and manage infrastructure on public cloud like Azure, Google Cloud, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Create scripts for pre and post-deployment tasks.
  • Manage product backlogs and bugs using tools like Jira.
  • Automate day-to-day jobs using scripting languages like Python.
  • Administer and maintain Windows servers, including MS Vulnerability patching and VM maintenance.
  • Knowledge of AS400 and RPG programming language is an asset.
  • Contribute to data centre operations, including server maintenance, backup, and storage tapes management.
  • Release deployments usually happen after-hours and on weekends, requiring flexibility to support during those times.
  • Involved in the full systems life cycle, responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, and supporting CIAD pipelines delivered on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to the design of new applications and undertake enhancements.
  • Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
  • Participate in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation, and buy vs. build recommendations.
  • Provide front-line operations support and coordination when pipeline/utility problems occur.

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • Computer Science Diploma or Degree; or related work experience. (systems, software engineering)
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in support – development (automation)
  • Java, Python
