Role Summary

We are seeking dynamic and articulate professionals with experience in the power sector who excel in collaborative, fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary authority on product knowledge throughout the sales and project implementation phases, providing education to customers and stakeholders both in-person and virtually.
  • Create and update product documentation, including specification sheets, manuals, and application guides.
  • Conduct tailored studies for various applications of Smart Wires' solutions, such as operational and maintenance cost projections, reliability analysis, and noise emission assessments.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation to support product development, sales, and deployment initiatives.
  • Engage in cross-functional teams to advocate for customer technical requirements during the product design process and assess the impact of design choices on customers.
  • Represent Smart Wires' offerings in industry and academic forums.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a focus on Power Systems and/or Power Electronics preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Exceptional technical writing and verbal communication skills in English (CEFR C1 or equivalent) to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in international teams.
  • Capacity to thrive in an entrepreneurial setting, managing ambiguity and competing priorities effectively.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a utility, power-system consultancy, or with a power-system equipment supplier, particularly in areas relevant to this role.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following:
    • FACTS or HVDC technologies
    • Power electronics
    • SCADA systems
    • Energy Management Systems (EMS)
    • Power-system protection and control
    • High-voltage substation design
    • IEEE and/or IEC standards for high-voltage equipment
  • Understanding of power systems maintenance and operational practices.

Work Location

This position is based in Medellín, Colombia, with an expectation of in-office work at least three days a week.

Travel Requirements

Approximately 10% travel is anticipated, primarily consisting of day trips or overnight stays within Latin America, along with about three weeks annually in the United States.
