Role: Senior SAP Functional Consultant — PP/MM

Location: Bogota, Colombia

Job Description:

Experienced SAP Functional Consultant with deep expertise in Production Planning (PP) and Materials Management (MM). Role includes leading functional design, configuration, testing, and deployment of SAP PP/MM solutions, driving process improvements, and mentoring junior consultants. The position requires strong business process knowledge across supply chain, manufacturing, procurement and inventory, plus proven experience implementing SAP S/4HANA or ECC projects in global or regional environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead functional design workshops with business stakeholders to capture requirements, map processes, and define solution scope for PP and MM.

- Translate business requirements into SAP functional specifications and configuration, covering master data, planning strategies, MRP, production orders, capacity planning, BOM, routing, shop floor integration, procurement, inventory management, and physical inventory.

- Configure SAP ECC or S/4HANA PP and MM modules and validate setups through unit, integration and user acceptance testing.

- Support end-to-end business process scenarios across Procure-to-Pay and Plan-to-Produce flows, ensuring smooth integration with SD, WM/EWM, QM, PM, and FI/CO as required.

- Develop and review functional specifications for custom developments, interfaces (IDocs, BAPIs, APIs), enhancements, and reports; collaborate with ABAP and BASIS teams during technical build and transports.

- Lead data migration planning and execution for master and transactional data, including mapping, cleansing and LSMW/BDL/FTW/other tools.

- Provide go-live and hypercare support, resolving production issues, applying fixes, and delivering stabilization activities.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and post-implementation optimization for process efficiency and system performance.

- Mentor and coach junior consultants and functional analysts, reviewing deliverables and best practices.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and local statutory needs specific to Colombia where applicable.

- Participate in project governance, status reporting and stakeholder communication.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Information Systems or related field.

- Minimum 5–8 years of hands‑on SAP functional experience with strong focus on PP and MM in live implementations or rollouts.

- Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations preferred; solid ECC experience acceptable.

- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes: discrete, repetitive and process industries; configuration of production orders, process orders, planned orders, MRP types and lot sizing.

- Strong MM experience: procurement cycles, purchasing, source determination, goods receipts, invoice verification, valuation, movement types and physical inventory.

- Experience integrating PP/MM with WM/EWM, QM, PM and SD.

- Familiarity with data migration tools and methodologies.

- Fluency in Spanish and professional working proficiency in English (written and verbal).

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to work with global teams and across time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

- SAP certifications in PP and/or MM or S/4HANA Professional certifications.

- Experience with SAP Activate methodology and Agile project delivery.

- Knowledge of SAP APO/IBP, MES or Advanced Planning tools is a plus.

- Experience with localization requirements for Colombia and Latin America tax/regulatory/practice considerations.

- Experience working with cloud-hosted SAP landscapes (AWS, Azure, GCP).
