Platform Engineer (GCP) at BairesDev In this role, you'll build and maintain the platform foundations that support an AI-driven mainframe modernization practice, ensuring that systems regenerated in Java, Go, or .
NET on GCP run reliably at scale. Working alongside architects and engineers within project pods, you'll focus on the infrastructure and data platform layers that make modernization efforts sustainable long-term. This is your opportunity to apply platform engineering discipline to a complex modernization challenge, working in a fully GCP-based environment with global engineering teams.

What You'll Do
- Build and maintain platform infrastructure supporting application modernization efforts on GCP.
- Implement and manage data pipelines and analytics platforms using BigQuery.
- Support engineering teams with platform reliability, scalability, and best practices.
- Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP-based environment. What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering with GCP.
- Experience supporting application modernization, contributing to re-architecting legacy or mainframe-class systems into Java, Go, or .
NET.
- Background in data architecture on GCP including BigQuery and data pipelines.
- Exposure to consulting or professional services delivery in project-based, client-facing environments.
- Familiarity with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec-driven design.
- Experience with requirements gathering.
- Familiarity with test-driven design.
- Advanced proficiency in English. Nice To Have
- Mainframe or COBOL domain familiarity.
- Experience with DORA metrics.
