**WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER**:
The Conservation Journalist supports communications activities for TNC Colombia strategic conservation programs and projects, produces contents for digital channels for TNC Colombia (social media and web page) including publishing of content, works with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverable, and executes editorial assets (print publications, reports, media outreach, and other initiatives for TNC Colombia). Their work is aligned with the Communications Strategy for TNC Colombia, and will report to the Communications Specialist of TNC Colombia. They actively follow and promote our Code of Conduct both internally and externally, continuously and consistently demonstrating alignment with our values.

The Conservation Journalist supports the Communications Specialist in the implementation of the internal and external Communications Strategy for TNC Colombia and its Iconic Places, and makes part of the conceptualization, production, and dissemination of communication products for conservation projects and conservation strategies for the country´s program.

**RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE**
- Works with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables.
- Helps develop digital and editorial content strategies linked to conservation projects and strategies.
- Researches, creates, produces, writes, and edits a wide variety of materials including but not limited to factsheets, books, booklets, guides, APPs, web articles, social media content, photography products and videos.
- Provides editorial services such as translation, text editing and proofreading, and creative content services such as storytelling strategies and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
- Develops field work in the Iconic Places where TNC works in Colombia (field photography, social media content including video, interviews, and supports the conservation team in field activities)
- Overlooks that all materials and products meet TNC’s global strategic and brand standards.
- Contributes to develop and foster relationships with internal and external partners.
- Supports the execution of communications products by vendors and guarantee that they meet the deadlines, and that the products have TNC Standards.
- Supports the Communications Specialist in the daily communications requests of the Conservation and Executive teams.
- Proposes innovative and creative ways to communicate conservation work on TNC Colombia channels.
- Supports implementation of communications/marketing campaigns coming from priority regional/global conservation initiatives.

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**:
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications and/or Journalism and a minimum of 2 years’ related experience in similar positions or equivalent combination of education and experience, with proven experience in environmental topics.
- A professional who enjoys field work, likes nature, and can travel often.
- Experience managing and creating social media campaigns.
- Fluent in English.
- Written and SEO-driven writing skills.
- Experience in writing articles and reports.
- Relevant and effective multimedia narrative skills.
- COVID-19 full vaccination scheme.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- External content vendors and consultants’ management experience.
- Experience in creating and implementing Communications Strategies.
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier)
- Photography (photo shoot, photo production)
- Video (editing, producing, screenwriting)
- Executes English-only or bilingual content and strategies
- Experience proofreading and editing (Spanish and English).
- Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
