Missionary Preschool Teacher

GEM operates 5 international gospel-saturated schools in 3 countries (Mexico, Uganda, and Colombia).
**GEM is looking for gifted teachers who are passionate about sharing their faith inside and outside of the classroom.** Our gospel-saturated schools are unique in that we take each aspect of school, and we seek to infuse each aspect with the gospel.

The Niños Brillantes School is our newest GEM school, and it is located in the beautiful and exciting coastal city of Barranquilla, Colombia. Barranquilla is home to around 2 million people, and is a safe city full of life and culture. There are multiple forms of public transportation, and many social and cultural opportunities. The Niños Brillantes School is a private, gospel-saturated school that will start off as a Preschool and overtime grow in grade levels. Students come from middle class families, and for many, this is their only option to receive a private, Christian education. The Niños Brillantes School uses Colombian-based standards designed to meet the needs of the students and their families and prepare them for continued education in the Colombian school system.

**Missionary Preschool Teacher**, you will have the opportunity to be a part of pioneering this new school in a new country as you work with nationals who are visionaries and passionate about reaching the community. You will be able to make a huge impact and serve the Lord by pouring out your life in the classroom for the purpose of planting seeds of the gospel in the hearts of your students and committing to excellence in the classroom each day

**Job Objective**:
As the
**Preschool English Missionary Teacher**, you will have the opportunity to create and maintain a positive learning environment within the preschool classroom, while teaching English and supporting each student as they grow academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. In addition to teaching, each teacher is also a missionary, using their skills as a teacher and love of the Lord to plant seeds of the gospel each day.

School Directors and GEM Directors

**Starting Salary**:
This is a missions position that requires fundraising (similar to support raising). The starting fundraising goal is $18,000 per year, and
**the starting gross salary is $13,200 (USD)**. Our team will provide fundraising training before fundraising begins. Please note that fundraising takes place before moving to Colombia.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Plan, prepare, and teach your preschool English classes using best practices
- Weave the gospel into your instruction
- Assist the school administration in accomplishing the academic and spiritual goals of the school
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and the community
- Love the mission of GEM and seek to make Jesus known through your classroom
- Attend GEM's Missionary Training in Wilmington, NC in June 2023
- As a missionary, there will be expectations to assist in recruiting, fundraising, creating policy, and being an ambassador for GEM

**Qualifications**:

- A true, genuine faith in Jesus Christ
- Fluency in English
- (preferred) Familiarity or fluency in Spanish
- (preferred) Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or something related
- An outgoing and adventurous personality, ready to pursue others for the sake of the gospel
- A humble spirit, ready to learn and serve those in the community
- Willingness to relocate to Colombia for the duration of the contract (Starting in July 2023)
- Eligibility to work in the US
- Willingness to fundraise and recruit for the ministry
