Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the payroll team, including staffing, training, performance management, and workload distribution.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve payroll transactions, including payroll runs, tax filings, and deductions, prior to processing.
- Monitor payroll controls and procedures to minimize errors and ensure data integrity in payroll systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated payroll inquiries and issue resolution, providing timely and effective support to employees and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize payroll processes, streamline workflows, and enhance efficiency.
- Prepare payroll-related reports and analysis for management, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Stay up to date of developments in payroll technology, regulations, and best practices, and implement changes as necessary to maintain compliance and improve operations.

Qualifications & Experiences required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; professional certification (e.g., CPP) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in payroll processing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Expertise in payroll software systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Proven track record in managing payroll operations, including payroll processing, tax filings, and reporting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Experience in implementing process improvements and optimizing payroll procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of integrity.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to resolve complex payroll issues and escalate as needed.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken (C1 or at least B2), with the capacity to articulate complex ideas and strategies clearly and concisely.
