My client is looking for a Facilities Technician II in the Richmond, CA area. This role is a 6 month contract with full time hours.

Job Responsibilities:

- Actively supports, understands, prioritizes, and applies preventative maintenance methods and processes for maintenance work on mechanical equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical plant systems.
- Spends time with operations group and shares knowledge and standard methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and meet team deadlines while keeping supervisor, workgroup, and other stakeholders advised on a timely basis of any progress updates or work completion.
- Comfortable with established Management Process & Team workflow.
- Ensures that maintenance & mechanical work is completed in a timely fashion and per the maintenance process and procedures.

Job Requirements:

- Experience in rotating equipment.
- Must be able to safely work around equipment that could be pressurized and may contain stored energy.
- Must possess fundamental computer skills and be comfortable working with iPads, Outlook, Word, Excel, and other related software used for team collaboration and productivity.
- Must be very knowledgeable in mechanical equipment operations, troubleshooting and repairs, while working with equipment owners and/or contractors to execute corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Must have previous work experience as a field mechanic.
- Knowledge to solve mechanical failures and provide mentorship for increased equipment reliability.
- Experience in rotating equipment.

Qualification & Experience:

- Excellent communication and team facilitation skills.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical experience in oil and gas or related petrochemical industries.
- Working knowledge of maintenance processes and how they are essential to our day to day operations.
- Experience with mechanical equipment operation, maintenance, and repairs of plant equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers, valves, etc.
- An ability to understand the plant operations and why the maintenance work is fundamental to the reliability of our plant production.

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) that centralizes maintenance information and facilitates the processes of maintenance operations.
- Must have three years or more of apprenticeship or equivalent work experience as a field mechanic in an industrial setting.
- Vocational school or work training with a focus on the Mechanical Field.
- Proficient with mechanical equipment maintenance and repairs of plant field equipment such as pumps, compressors, conveyors, valves, and actuators.
- Fundamental knowledge of the operation of tanks, vessels, exchangers, pumps, compressors, VRU systems, furnace equipment, gas systems, product shipping, cooling system, and quality testing of products, as well as utility and emergency support systems.
