Accounting Assistant

**Job Overview**
We are seeking a detail-oriented **Virtual Accounting Assistant** to join our team. This role is perfect for someone with strong organizational skills and a passion for supporting accounting operations in a fast-paced transportation environment.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Handle bookkeeping tasks, including reconciling accounts and maintaining financial records specific to the trucking industry.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts related to freight operations.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for management review.
- Manage payroll for drivers and office staff, including tracking hours and reimbursements.
- Monitor and reconcile fuel expenses, tolls, and other transportation-related costs.
- Collaborate with vendors, brokers, and clients to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations specific to the transportation sector.

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience in accounting, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of OTR trucking financial operations (fuel taxes, trip expenses, etc.).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
