- Seasonal (May 14, 2023-August 5, 2023)/**GENERAL FUNCTION**:
The Assistant Summer Camp Director works closely with the Summer Camp Director and oversees the Summer Leadership team. The Assistant Director will be the Director’s right-hand person and will oversee all things that go on at camp. The Assistant Director will be mainly responsible for the smooth running of morning Activity Blocks at camp, including the planning of daily and weekly blocks throughout summer, supply management and inventory for activities, activity sign -ups, and the creation of daily and weekly attendance sheets. They are also typically someone who has a lot of experience in the camping world. The Assistant Director will help with staff scheduling, program scheduling, and any other needs at camp.

**KNOW-HOW**:
The Assistant Summer Camp Director must have a thorough understanding of the YMCA’s mission and goals, and a desire to work with children between the ages of 7 and 17. Leadership skills, enthusiasm, patience, a sense of humor and self-control are all essential. The Assistant Summer Camp Director should have experience in leading and motivating staff as well as implementing high-quality camp programs.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Two years of college education preferred
- Experience working with children
- Prior summer camp experience preferred
- Prior experience leading peers preferred
- CPR/AED & First Aid required
- TB test required
- Ability to be physically active all day
