**Join our Team**

Our Pagely security team is seeking a Senior Security Engineer (SSE) to join our platform security team to protect our platforms against all threats. You will be conducting threat research, developing various security tools, publishing research, and writing malware signatures, as well as actively participating on the operational side where security threats are handled and mitigated daily. We encourage our team members to mentor more junior members of the team and act as a guide in our multi-functional security teams. Here you will have a high degree of autonomy and a great deal of responsibility in looking after customers and our hosting partner (AWS) as it relates to customer and end-user data and threats.

**What you'll get to do...**

Work directly in the architecture and development of security tools related to the protection of our hosting platform and its customers against all hosting and WordPress-specific threats will be your responsibility For this role, we want an expert in Information Security Programs, someone with deep knowledge of relevant attack vectors, AWS cloud services, WordPress, and its different ecosystems. You'll be working approximately 25% of your time in R&D of threat hunting discovery and documentation of security threats. We encourage that your research be published internally, and will internally present its findings to larger audiences. The role requires in-depth knowledge of Web-based malware and Security vulnerabilities in the WordPress ecosystem and requires the creation of Yara signatures for newly detected malware. On a day-to-day basis, you'll continuously detect and mitigate threats to the platform. In the process, you will develop a rule set and build security-specific mitigation tools to visualize and counter threats. The SSE will work closely with the various teams in the Information Security department and align security efforts and initiatives with the security goals of the company.

**Your experience should include...**
- Complete understanding of attack vectors, especially in layer 7.
- 3+ years working with PHP and Go programming languages.
- Responsible for maintaining security tooling codebase and architecting and developing new security tools.
- AWS services specifically in terms of security experience.
- Linux security, server hardening, and service hardening such as NGINX, SSH, DNS, and Docker expertise.
- We are looking for WordPress security, WordPress plugin malware detection, and writing experience in malware signatures for WordPress/plugins, expert.
- Must have experience as a security threat researcher, preferably in WordPress and its ecosystem. Experience with Web Application Firewalls.
- Ability to work well with a team and on individual projects as assigned.
- Proactively overview the environment to detect and implement steps to mitigate cyber-attacks before they occur.
- Technical expertise regarding security-related concepts to operational teams within the Information Technology department.
- Review, investigate, and respond to real-time alerts within the environment.
- Review real-time and build historical reports for security and/or compliance violations.
- Online security-related supervision of resources for new and emerging cyber threats.
- Evaluate new security technologies to determine the potential value for the enterprise.
