Cayenta has an opportunity for Azure Architect who will join the Cayenta Cloud and Operations in building and maintaining Cayenta’s cloud infrastructure and cloud strategy. We are looking for someone with a continuous improvement mindset, exceptional systematic and problem-solving skills, and a passion for technology.
This position requires high proficiency in the Microsoft Azure platform and a preference to work in an agile environment. You will be reporting to the Sr. Director of the Cloud and Operations in our Vancouver office.
**What your impact will be**:
- Designing and architecting the blueprint(s) to migrate our legacy stack to Cloud. Including but not limited to designing hybrid models where some services will be on-prem while others in the cloud.
- Lead the cloud initiative, including the administration of Azure.
- Collaborate with the VP of R&D and Sr. Director of Cloud and Operations elaborating the “Cloud roadmap” and “Strategic plans”
- Migrate and maintain existing VMWare-based on-premises infrastructure into Microsoft Azure Cloud environments. This includes efforts in designing and implementing networks. and security, governance, disaster recovery, data backup, cloud storage and more in the Microsoft Azure platform for the R&D department.
- Work with DevOps and QA (Quality Assurance) teams to implement the necessary practices, processes, and tools to produce the rapid delivery of high-quality products and services.
- The role will cross organizational boundaries to ensure high collaborative efforts and deliverable goals are met - you may be embedded in R&D and Operational teams to help deliver solutions for Cloud services
**What we are looking for**:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience architecting Cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform, including all key services such as Azure Monitor, Network Watcher, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Site Recovery, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, Azure Virtual Desktops and etc.
- Proven understanding of cloud patterns.
- Proven hands-on experience or solid understanding in the following areas:
- Scripting and automation ( PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, etc. )
- IaC - Terraform, Ansible and Azure ARM (or similar)
- Kubernetes and Docker (containerization)

- Microsoft Certifications: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-303 & AZ-304), Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500)
- Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD tools and processes.
- Solid understanding of QA automation.
- Solid understanding of Cloud security.
- Experience with CIS (Customer Information System)
- Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
- Experience with SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) microservices architectures
