As a member of the Global Trade Compliance team, the Trade Compliance Specialist will oversee, create, maintain, implement and advise on global import and export trade regulations, customs procedures and shipping requirements, including working with collaborating agencies. This position will initiate global changes on updated regulations and monitor efficiency and compliance of the change as well as work closely with partners at: industrial sites, supply chain, export platforms, quality assurance, compliance groups and external partners: customs house broker, ocean carriers and/ or freight forwarders.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Develop and monitor effectiveness and compliance of Customs processes for import and export processes with various departments.
- Point of contact for Customs Law and Trade Regulations requests within LATAM.
- Initiate and lead customs-related projects to ensure compliance to Trade regulations
- Foreign Trade Zone compliance management
- Representative in communication with the anti-narcotics police in Colombia
- Train the anti-narcotics police, customs agent in seaports and airports every 6 months
- Review and guide on Certificates of Origin and Free Trade Agreements
- Provide duty classification information to personnel within LATAM
- Participate in flow analysis reviews to optimize import transportation spend.
- Create appropriate reporting tools necessary for activities.
- Resolve any customs clearances in a timely manner.
- Support Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification in LATAM
- Perform and enhance export compliance functions including denied party screening and license determination.
- Evaluate and resolve questions and issues with service providers, including customs brokers and freight forwarders.
- Understand and interpret product specifications, Bill of Materials and other technical records.
- Identify country of origin and marking on import/ export goods.
- Identify free trade program opportunities and preferential treatment qualifications.
- Review trade data and reporting to identify, process, and manage post entry auditing.
- Manage Foreign Trade zone guidelines and requirements globally.
- Environmental Agency to ensure proper handling of shipments.
- Review and understand maritime, air and road regulations Dangerous Goods regulations
- Maintaining companies’ customs status.
- Work with Global Trade Compliance Manager to ensure proper guidelines for trade.
- Provide training on trade compliance regulations. Raise awareness for Trade Compliance
- Other projects and tasks as assigned.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- English and Spanish language
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Experience in an international working environment
- 3+ years' experience in regulatory aspects for logistics and/or Customs environment with responsibility for import/export regulations and/or trade compliance
- Experience in working with freight forwarders, customs brokers and transportation providers
- Excellent communications skills, interfaces with many internal departments
- Detail oriented and well organized. Computer skills: Microsoft Office, ERP system familiarity.
- ADR, IMDG and IATA certification
- English and Spanish oral and written communication skills

**Required Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Trade and/or Transportation from an accredited college or equivalent work experience; Global Logistics, Imports, Exports, Chemical or Ag Chemical experience preferred.
