**Summary**:
Responsible for the development and execution of the regional category strategy for LATAM for the Supply Chain & Transportation category, to drive and implement strategic negotiations and projects and support the local efforts that helps to assure the supply and the right execution of the strategy at regional & local level. This person will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies, conducting strategic negotiations, managing strategic and key supplier relationships, and supporting local procurement teams and key stakeholders to improve service levels and reduce total costs.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Develop the regional procurement strategy for the Supply Chain and Transportation category, based on the global strategy and regional and local needs
- Lead the implementation of procurement strategy, savings, and improvement projects.
- Lead SRM, risk management and supply continuity programs
- Develop the relationship with global and local procurement teams. The category manager is expected to meet with stakeholders and key users to ensure alignment in goals and execution of the strategy.
- Provide guidance to local teams for them to lead sourcing process, negotiations, and savings projects
- Understand and communicate to Procurement local teams and key stakeholders key market trends in the assigned category.
- Define the Strategic suppliers and lead the supplier selection process and negotiating contracts for these suppliers, as well as across multiple locations
- Develop and implement plans in conjunction with local teams.
- Establish annual goals and long-term plans jointly with local procurement teams and stakeholder
- Analyze spend data and evaluate options for savings.
- Continuously evaluate and assess supplier performance reports consistent with agreed to requirements to insure consistency with quality, service, and delivery targets.
- Develop market intelligence and benchmarking; Proactively identify new markets and supplier sources.
- Generate regular reports for the senior management concerning the Supply Chain & Transportation category of spend under their responsibility
- Drive implementation of the Baxter Supplier Quality Standard and develop strong, ethical relationships with world-class suppliers consistent with Baxter Shared Values and Baxter's Business Practice Standard for Suppliers.
- Utilizes a network of benchmarking peers to drive for Best Demonstrated Practices

**Qualifications**:

- 5 years or more experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Business process capability and ability to develop strategic thinking
- Good command of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural and matrix environment
- Must be able to speak and write fluently in English. Other languages are an asset (Spanish, Portuguese)
- Experience with Coupe
- Good knowledge in Procurement & Sourcing processes
- Advanced leadership skills

**Education and/or Experience**:

- Experience in Procurement and/or Business Management
- Bachelor/master’s degree in finance, Engineering or Business
