You will be part of the platform engineering team responsible for developing and operating the core of the company's main product. As such, you will be ideally placed to make a meaningful impact by helping millions of people learn through the improved reliability of our web platform.

This position is fully remote, with occasional travel for team or company events.

**About Nerdy**:
**Qualifications**:

- 5+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or equivalent (incl. on-call).
- Experience with one or more of the following: Ruby, Go, Python.
- Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration or networking.
- Experience with Site Reliability Engineering, System Design, and Distributed Computing.
- Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems, including relational databases.
- Systematic problem-solving approach, with excellent communication skills and a sense of drive.
- Experience with New Relic or, secondarily, a similar observability platform.
- Experience with AWS or, secondarily, Google Cloud Platform.
- A Computer Science degree, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

**Responsibilities**:

- Partaking in the team's on-call rotation schedule.
- Participate in the team's improvements in our ability to detect incidents faster, triage them more quickly, and resolve them sooner.
- Champion SRE best practices within the team and the Engineering department, and develop tooling to automate repetitive tasks.
- Raise the bar and be a leader within operational excellence by actively contributing to the continuous operational training of the team.
- Contribute to the company's code bases.
