**Role Purpose**

Join our team as an Arts Manager and embark on an exciting journey of creativity and cultural enrichment As a key collaborator, you will work closely with the Head of Arts, playing a vital role in implementing captivating activities in the country. Your efforts will be directed towards unleashing the potential of the Arts, amplifying its impact through our distinguished global programmes: Culture Connects, Spotlights on Culture, Creative Economy, and Arts Responds to Global Challenges.

In this dynamic role, you will be part of a dedicated and talented team in the country, working hand in hand with sector partners and stakeholders to shape a thriving artistic ecosystem. We prioritize building robust relationships, not only within the local context but also across our expansive global arts network. This means you'll have countless opportunities to collaborate with like-minded professionals, sharing insights and innovations, as we collectively contribute to the global arts landscape.

**Main accountabilities but not limited to the following**
- Uses their own knowledge of the country’s arts and creative industries, intelligence and insight from other sector partners, to support the implementation of global arts programmes that meet the specific needs of the country while also providing value to UK arts and creative industry organisations.
- Through ongoing relationships with Global arts colleagues, builds and maintains good understanding of UK arts and creative industry sector priorities.
- Identifies opportunities for the UK Arts sector to work in and collaborate with peers in country
- Provides specialist input and design to help ensure activities under the Arts global programmes are relevant to the Arts and creative industry sectors in country.
- Actively collaborates with colleagues in Arts global teams on programmes
- Uses digital platforms and technological advancements to improve efficiency, impact and quality of activity design and delivery
- Contributes to planning process for country arts portfolio within region
- Develops and nurtures internal relationships across Cultural Engagement to ensure strategic objectives are aligned, understood and achieved
- Considers the role of digital products, services and channels in optimising the impact and sustainability of the portfolio, working with regional marketing and digital colleagues.
- Maintains partner relationships relevant to the Arts, and wider cultural sectors, to maintain a strong understanding of relevant themes and issues in the arts and creative industries.
- Builds and maintains a broad, diverse and dynamic network of key creative and cultural sector representatives in country, including artists, creative professionals, creative hubs, arts organisations, arts advocacy groups, intermediary and sector bodies, etc.
- Promotes the diversity of the UK arts and creative industries sector in country
- Ensures British Council’s value proposition and support to the UK arts sector in country is clear and communicated.
- Works to ensure activities under the Arts global programmes are tailored to the specific needs of country, through collaboration with colleagues in globally dispersed programme teams
- Manages finances of small projects and activities in the Arts portfolio and will flag up issues promptly

**Requirements of the role**
- Good knowledge and understanding of current trends and practices in at least one sector of the arts and creative industries in the country
- Experience of working on arts/creative industry projects
- University Degree in an arts, humanities or creative industries related area
- C1 English and C1 Spanish or equivalent
