Job Family Description

The Tax job family encompasses global roles accountable for the design and implementation of tax strategies, policies, and the tax governance framework. It also includes the provision of tax support to Diageo’s business units, delivery of projects to create shareholder value, and proactive management and mitigation of key tax risks.

Context/Scope

Global Business Operations is end-to-end multi-functional shared services for our markets to deliver the Diageo Performance Ambition.

GBO provides a wide array of services to markets and functions, with activities ranging from customer facing services, HR operations, general accounting, financial planning and reporting, and specialist services such as tax and treasury. GBO works as a global network with centers located in Bangalore, Budapest, Bogotá, and Manila. Processes are organized into four major process towers:

- End-to-End Commercial (E2EC)
- Source-to-Pay (STP)
- Financial Control (FC)
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- HR Operations (HRO)
- Data Services

In the past years GBOB has successfully implemented Diageo´s global finance model into the region by developing the SSC into a Business partner for the Region.

Purpose

The areas of the business you will support and who you will work with are:

- Tax Business Partners and Tax Governance and Reporting to support the risk management agenda, audits, and indirect tax related projects.
- Financial controllers especially in connection with journal entries, managing B/S reconciliations.
- Global Tax and key stakeholders such as tax authorities/STP/E2EC to effectively manage the tax risks for your markets.
- CARM, GAR and External auditors to ensure tax controls and processes are understood and delivered to meet CARM satisfactory standard and SOX controls under the broader Tax Control Framework
- 3P providing the automation tools to manage market specific improvements/issues of the process reflected in the tool.

Accountabilities

Develop, lead, and ensure execution of Stream agenda, coordination, and support of Service Delivery across LAC for assigned Stream. Boost automation, standardization, efficiency, and effectiveness for assigned processes. To provide finance and process expertise to establish a regional control framework to drive consistency, quality, and efficiency in finance processes. Define standard elements of a global process /control framework across LAC regions standardizing processes to the extent feasible and beneficial. Identify, implement and document global/regional finance business and compliance processes and policies. Support of LAC DTP´s / mapping for assigned processes, make sure these are kept actualized. Match systems functionality to enable the development of solutions and correct system configuration. Support during the related internal and external audits and ensure accurate audit report is published. Drive and co-ordinate the elimination of audit findings (internal and external) and risks in timely manner in conjunction with respective teams on LAC level. Provide Subject Matter Expert support to the teams focalized in the operation, interact with global teams accordingly. Play an active role in defining and executing a roadmap for process standardization, automation and in defining the methodology for transitioning of resources to the new target operating model for Finance.
