- Establish a comprehensive structure to the global Sanctions Compliance Program (SCP), including roles and responsibilities for all elements of the program
- Finalize and obtain formal approval of the global sanctions compliance policy; monitor and enforce adherence to the policy language, and update on a periodic or as-needed basis
- Develop a methodology and conduct a sanctions risk assessment in a manner and with a frequency that adequately accounts for potential risks that may be posed by customers, products, services, and geographic locations, among other factors
- Identify any areas of elevated risk exposure, and develop new processes and/or enhance existing controls to mitigate these risks
- Implement a sanctions screening program to conduct initial and regular screening of persons and any other pertinent entities
- Review settlements published by OFAC to revise and enhance the SCP, as needed
- Collaborate with Operations, Membership, Procurement, Third Party Risk Management, Finance, and other key internal stakeholders to lead the development of procedures to detect, review, triage, escalate, and disposition all potential or confirmed hits generated from the screening program
- Create and deliver a training program to ensure all relevant staff has sufficient understanding of sanctions, and TransUnion’s specific approach to sanctions compliance
- Develop business cases for recommended staffing levels required to carry out the unit’s role and responsibilities effectively
- Interact with Leadership to raise awareness of sanctions trends, emerging issues, or remedial enhancements to the program; prepare materials for the Board or relevant management/risk committees
- Participate in and/or coordinate, as appropriate, internal audit or compliance assurance reviews of the SCP
- Understand TransUnion’s global footprint, and which foreign subsidiaries are owned or controlled by TransUnion
- Engage with and leverage international Risk & Compliance resources to assist with execution of the SCP, as needed

- Meaningful experience building and/or managing a global sanctions compliance program
- Working familiarity with the framework for OFAC compliance commitments, filing of timely OFAC Blocking Reports and knowledge of OFAC’s regulations and processes.
- Extensive experience with OFAC, international sanctions regimes, sanctions reporting requirements, and watch list screening requirements
- Strong organizational, project management and project delivery skills within a dynamic matrixed environment
- CGSS, CFE, or ACAMS designation, or commitment to obtaining CGSS certification within 1 year of hire
- Demonstrated expertise in high-quality, concise and precise business writing skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Mindset to adopt a risk-based approach, balancing the requirements of a for-profit, publicly traded global organization against the need to mitigate various areas of risk
- Availability to work outside regular business hours, as needed
