This role involves completing advanced technical tasks and being an internal GNOC escalation point to ensure our client meets their contractual responsibilities and SLA's. The role supports data networks that are critical to the operation of our client's businesses operate 24 x 7 and will involve working at times under duress and with on-site technicians requiring exceptionally clear instructions, guidance, and firm supervision.

**What do you need to succeed?**
- Previous experience in configuring and troubleshooting networks and hardware.
- Previous experience in leading and mentoring a team.
- Previous experience in key network monitoring protocols including SNMP, IPMI, syslog, etc.
- Previous experience in and knowledge of routing and switching technologies including TCP/IP, STP, VLAN, VRRP, CDP, LLDP.
- A team member with a strong technical background in troubleshooting at least three of the following major hardware manufacturers and a broad technical understanding of the others:
- Cisco Meraki
- Cisco traditional
- HP/Aruba
- CommScope/Ruckus
- Extreme
- Ubiquiti
- Demonstrate experience in configuring and troubleshooting layered services including:
- IPTV
- Casting
- Phone systems
- Building Management Systems
- Must understand core Linux fundamentals.
- Must be able to demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills.
- An ability to manage numerous demands across both external and internal clients.
- Must be able to resolve issues after hours, sometimes at short notice.
- Previous experience in using the Microsoft Suite of products.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent writing and verbal English skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work effectively.

**What awaits you in this role?**
Daily Tasks: Operations:
- Review tickets that have been allocated to your team members to ensure that they are qualified to complete the ticket.
- Keep abreast of your team’s current workload and re-prioritize tickets based on AT priority, due date, and customer.
- Be the point of escalation for the GNOC Network Engineers.
- Ensure that any scheduled work for your time zone is planned, prioritized, and completed.
- Lead various initiatives and client projects.
Client Management:
- Stay on top of electronic communication and ensure responses are communicated professionally and sent in a timely matter to meet client requirements.
- Ensure that timely and proactive customer updates on open items have been provided.
Team Dynamic:
- Informal and ad-hoc direct report check-ins with direct team members.
- Ensure that all team members are recording their time in Autotask accurately and against the correct categories.
Weekly Tasks: Operations
- Review all open tickets and ensure these are being actioned and customers updated.
Annual Tasks: Team Dynamic
- Support the service delivery managers by providing feedback for network engineer performance reviews.
- Actively participate in the remuneration and KPI review with a focus on ensuring all performance measures are achievable, clear, measurable, and fully aligned with the strategic growth plans.
Ad-hoc Tasks: Operations
- Practice active listening of team members, clients, and suppliers to support our product and service refinement.
- When there are vacancies on your direct team, as the team lead, you assume responsibility for those tasks until they are replaced.
Client Management:
- Attend client and supplier meetings both formal and informal as relevant to your responsibilities.
Team Dynamic:
- Leading the selection process and remaining accountable for onboarding any direct report, which will include daily check-ins for at least the first month.
- Enable staff to attend training provided wherever possible.
