Purpose Johnson & Johnson is recruiting a Regional Events Lead LATAM to drive the strategy, governance, and execution excellence of regional events across Latin America. This role is responsible for overseeing a broad portfolio of internal and external events, including congresses, symposia, advisory boards, speaker trainings, leadership meetings, and other strategic engagements with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and key stakeholders. The Regional Events Lead will serve as a strategic partner to Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and cross-functional teams, ensuring events are executed with the highest standards of quality, compliance, stakeholder experience, and operational efficiency. The role will also lead the Regional Events function by establishing governance, standardizing processes, generating data-driven insights, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the region.

Bogotá, Colombia or São Paulo, Brazil. Travel: Up to 20% across LATAM.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Event Strategy & Governance Develop and execute the LATAM Events strategy aligned with business priorities and organizational objectives. Establish governance frameworks, service models, standard operating procedures, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms. Position the Events function as a strategic business partner through recommendations, insights, and best-practice implementation. Drive standardization and scalability of event processes across multiple LATAM markets.
  2. Event Planning & Execution Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and closure of regional events across in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats. Oversee event timelines, stakeholder engagement, logistics, budget management, and post-event activities. Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality event experiences for both internal and external audiences. Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver events aligned with business goals.
  3. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with Healthcare Compliance (HCC), HCP engagement requirements, company policies, and applicable regulations. Provide guidance on event governance, contracting, documentation, and approval processes. Identify and mitigate operational and compliance risks associated with event execution.
  4. Financial & Vendor Management Manage event budgets, accruals, financial reconciliation, and reporting activities. Oversee contract negotiations and vendor performance management. Drive cost optimization and operational efficiencies while maintaining service quality. Build strong partnerships with agencies, venues, travel providers, and other external suppliers.
  5. Continuous Improvement & Insights Leverage data, dashboards, and post-event analytics to identify improvement opportunities and measure impact. Drive automation, digital adoption, and innovative event solutions. Generate actionable insights and recommendations to improve stakeholder experience and business outcomes. Benchmark industry best practices and continuously enhance event operations across LATAM.

Qualifications



  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.


  • Experience:
    Minimum of 3 years of experience in event management required. Experience in meetings & congresses, commercial operations, or related functions. Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience is desirable. Experience managing complex events from planning through execution and closeout. Experience leading projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders across countries and functions. Experience working in highly regulated industries is preferred.
