Cytel Project Finance Analyst in Bogota, Colombia

The role of the Project Finance Analyst at Cytel is to support project teams financially while supporting the broader financial goals of the organization. The finance analyst is responsible for:

  1. Partnering with the teams to provide forecasting support. This will include supporting input, review, and analysis of the forecasting tool. Understanding the forecast, the forecast trends, and the impact of the forecast on the broader organization will be key to success.
  2. Managing all financial aspects of your project portfolio including:
    1. Supporting invoicing and cash flow for all assigned studies. This will include a review and understanding of the cash position and what is being done to support improvement as needed.
    2. Validation of financial systems to confirm the study has been set up properly and updated as needed in the master systems.
    3. Reviewing with project manager and/or team monthly project finances. This includes understanding the rationale for the issues and potential resolutions along with the overall impact on the study and company, and strategically working with the project team to determine the next steps to recover work or reduce cost overruns.
    4. Providing ongoing support for aligning resourcing with the project forecast of contracted hours.
    5. Working with internal leadership including project managers, project leads, finance managers, and higher levels of management to support financial risks, escalations, and resolutions.
  3. Providing proactive communication in a succinct and thoughtful manner.
  4. Proactively supporting others on the team with overall departmental timelines.
  5. Managing priorities and timelines independently.
  6. Collaborating well with others and bringing their own ideas to the table to support the overall goals of PFM.

Preferred Qualifications and Preferred Technical Skills:

  1. Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint (basic), and Microsoft Excel (Intermediate)
  2. Knowledge of percent complete accounting
  3. Knowledge of Financial Statement analysis

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: BA in Finance or Accounting.
  2. Experience: 2+ years related experience.
  3. Experience in project-based work, clinical research or clinical research is a plus.
