The Opportunity
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role provides a unique opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from new constructions to renovations, always with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. You will be part of a highly collaborative international team, working on national and international projects and engaging with professionals from around the world.
As an Electrical Engineer at Arup, you will:
- Participate in the full design and site supervision of electrical and special installations in buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Lead the design of electrical system packages on small to large-scale complex projects (healthcare, laboratories, commercial, higher education, aviation and rail).
- Provide consulting services in the field of sustainability and energy efficiency.
- Prepare calculations, reports, plans, and technical specifications for a variety of national and international projects.
- Prepare drawings, specifications, technical reports, and presentation materials and incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings for electrical systems including but not limited to single lines, power layouts, lighting design, lightning protection, fire alarm system design etc.
- Select electrical equipment for use in buildings and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
- Prepare electrical engineering calculations such as load analysis, lighting calculations etc.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers from other disciplines and architects.
- Attend and contribute to project meetings, establishing effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
Does this role inspire you?
We are looking for someone that is eager to get hands-on experience on site. Ideally, you'll bring:
- A Degree or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technologies with a specialty in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Industrial and Automatic Electronic Engineering.
- +6 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on the design of electrical installations.
- Excellent written and spoken Spanish and English skills.
- Flexibility and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to lead the electrical discipline as lead electrical designer for projects with good organization skills.
- Ability to work effectively across teams from other regions remotely.
- Good working knowledge of local building codes and ability to learn and adapt to codes from other regions.
- Specializations in the field of Data Centers, renewables, energy storage, or electric mobility.
- Knowledge of IoT and information technologies.
- Previous experience with Revit, Caneco, DIALux, or Etap.
